Lexia is an online reading program for children. There are 18 different levels, and each level has eight facts. You click on stars coming off different parts of the picture, and a fact comes up. You have five different categories at a time that you can choose from, and when you complete a category, you can’t choose that one any more. When you complete all the categories in a level, you get to the next level.
I’m on Level 11 and I am loving most of my five categories. There’s one that I don’t really like, but the others are awesome. The one I don’t like has pictures of three eggs on the front. It is Spelling Rules 1. It sometimes does words that I don’t even know. There’s also Hard and Soft C and G, Syllable Division, Synonyms and Antonyms, and last but not least, Sentence Structure. In fact, that’s my favorite. I already know this stuff by heart because it does the same things over and over again.
There is always a beautiful background consisting of trees, an animal or two, and plants, and sometimes a city in the background.
I usually use it from 15 to 30 minutes two times a week. I love doing this! I always look forward to doing it. I feel like I’ve become a better reader. I have used it for almost a whole school year.
