We’ve been living in a bit of chaos, moving out of our house, crashing with friends, suddenly switching plans from rentals to RV, and thinking through how that now impacts our packing plans. We finally are at my in-laws’ house and I have a little time to relax, so I’m taking advantage of the time to share a great Family Fun Day we got to participate in recently.
On our way home from Philadelphia a few weeks ago, we were excited to spend some time with friends from our days in Northern VA and to visit our beloved church, Gateway Community Church. It was so good being “home” again!
On this particular Sunday, they were having a Family Fun Day after church. It was a great event with lots of very simple, low-cost games, so I wanted to share it here in case any of you want to use these ideas for something similar.
At each game, a timer was set for 60 seconds.

Adjust the serving spoon just so, then knock over the paper packs and send the ball flying into the air.

Use a paper clip on a string to hook keys.

Without using your hands, wiggle your face to get a cookie from your forehead to your mouth.

Move the ball along the yoga mat so that it bounces up into the box.

Using a straw, move Skittles from one bowl to the other.
Each person has their own cereal box puzzle to complete.

Each person has their own cereal box puzzle to complete.

Working in pairs, add items to the balance bar without it tipping over to one side.

This was like a giant version of a Jenga-type game.
Cute idea!!

I love this idea! I think I’ll try this with my own family too! Apparently my daughter has heard of it before because she just walked in the room and got really excited about your post title lol. We’re just beginning our homeschool journey and are hoping to be on the road in 2017 (sooner if I have my say, we’re in MA and I HATE the winters!)

We’re in the Boston area right now – our first experience in MA! We’re really enjoying it so far!
